Diana Flesner is an active cellist and teacher in the Washington, DC area. Always passionate about chamber music, she is founding member and cellist of the West Shore Piano Trio, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and has performed throughout the United States including concerts in Alabama, California, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, DC, and West Virginia. Diana received her Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Illinois, her Masters of Music from San Francisco Conservatory, and her Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Middlebury College with a double major in Music and Russian Language and Literature. Her graduate studies focused on ethnomusicology in the Balkans and the quartet music of Bulgarian composer Marin Goleminov. Principal teachers have included Brandon Vamos, Bonnie Hampton, Jean-Michel Fonteneau, and Dieuwke Davydov. Diana performs regularly with the Apollo Orchestra and has played with Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, BACH (Baroque Artists of Champaign-Urbana), Champaign-Urbana Symphony, Fairfax Symphony, Illinois Symphony, Maryland Symphony, Opera Illinois, Peoria Symphony, and The Prairie Ensemble. She currently teaches at the International School of Music and Washington Waldorf School in Bethesda, MD
