Principal Oboe

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Noelle Drewes earned her B.M. from Ithaca College in upstate New York, including a semester abroad in London, England.  She completed both the M.M. and D.M.A. from the University of Maryland in College Park.  Noelle has also spent time as a student at several prestigious summer music festivals: Brevard, Eastern Music Festival, The Pierre Monteux Festival, and Boston University's Tanglewood Institute. In addition to her duties as The Apollo Orchestra's Principal Oboist,  Noelle is also Principal Oboe of the Two Rivers Chamber Orchestra, as well as a substitute oboe/English horn for many regional orchestras, including the Kennedy Center's National Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Drewes is also a founding member of the Capitol Reeds Trio.  Not being limited to simply playing the oboe, Noelle is also a woodwind repair technician at Lee Lachman Woodwind Services.   When not playing or repairing the oboe, Noelle can be found either teaching from her home studio, or outside reading a good book.
